Sporting fans were treated to some incredible action this past weekend, and we’ve rounded up 5 of the best standout moments that will surely be talking-points around the water-cooler this week.

Springboks topple All Blacks in Johanesburg – South Africa managed to defeat the World Champions in a thrilling match at Ellis Park.

Pumas pounce on Wallabies for first Rugby Championship win – Argentina’s Pumas won their first Rugby Championship match as they outmuscled the Wallabies in Mendoza.

Diego Costa’s impressive goal for Chelsea – Chelsea’s new recruit punished Arsenal with a piece of individual skill to beat the goalkeeper and push Chelsea ahead 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.

8-Goal thriller between Borussia Dortmund and Hamburger SV – we were treated to a real goal fest on matchday 5 of the 2013/14 campaign. After Hamburger SV had levelled the scores at 2-2, Borussia Dortmund went on a rampage, finding the back of the net four more times to win 6-2.

Rabbitohs win Grand Final in style – The South Sydney Rabbitohs went on to to win the NRL Grand Final by overcoming the Bulldogs 30-6 at ANZ Stadium.

Alonso almost scores from the half-way line – Xabi Alonso was inches away from scoring the best goal of Matchday 7. During FC Bayern München’s 4-0 victory over Hannover 96, the 32-year-old Spaniard audaciously attempted to lob Hannover keeper Ron-Robert Zieler from inside his own half.

    All such great moments. The Springboks game was priceless, we dipped a bit in the second half but was nevertheless a cracker of a game.

    Costa’s goal was fantastic! Chelsea are slowly producing performances that they are capable of. Not only great goals but controlling the game far better.

    Alonso’s attempt was so close to being goal of the season. Past efforts show he’s more than capable of the spectacular.

    Another great moment was Sandro Diaz’s run at the Kimberly Diamond Cup. I don’t think you can beat a Brazillian at vert. Was also great to see Andy McDonald tear it up.
