Fancy A Drink At Clarke’s On Bree?

With every new bar popping up on Bree street, the strip of Cape Town’s CBD is becoming more and more attractive as the epicenter of what’s happening in town; and while people flock to the busy part of of the city, a great spot to enjoy a post-work drink or snack is Clarke’s bar and dining room.

Situated on the corner of Wale and Bree street, Clarke’s is an unassuming little nook of awesomeness. Some may be immediately familiar with its small wooden deck and awning which juts out towards the street, but even if you don’t get a spot there, there’s a great relaxed vibe going on inside.

The interior of Clarke’s features a European vibe which wouldn’t be out of place on a main walkway in Paris or Rome. The actual bar and sitting area is simply lit and the decor has a rustic feel with light greenery and plants situated around the room – something you don’t see often in Cape Town hangouts.

The menu is full of some great sandwiches, burgers and snacks – which are a favourite while sitting and enjoying a good beverage. The breakfast is one of the main attractions, with omelets, french toast, and big breakfasts all on offer.

As for the drinks, Clarke’s serves a wealth of cocktails and highballs, as well as a decent selection of beers, including Black Label on tap. Awwww yeahh.

There is also a Happy Hour, which runs from 5-7pm, with drinks such as a double G&T, double rum and Coke, and the Georgia Punch all priced at R25 each.

So if you’re looking for a relaxed yet vibey drink this weekend, Clarke’s may have the feel and vibe you’re looking for.
