What better time to indulge in some gaming goodness than the weekend? The local retailers seem to agree with us and are offering up some alluring deals to taunt our wallets.

To celebrate Game’s 45th birthday, the retailer has introduced a bunch of new gaming specials for the week, including some discounted prices on current and last-gen consoles.

Regarding the new machines on the market, there is an Xbox One standalone console for R5,799; and a 500GB PS4 console with two DualShock 4 controllers for R6,199.

As for the PS3 and 360 consoles, Game has a super-slim 12GB PS3 with two controllers for R2,799; and limited edition blue Xbox 360 500GB console with FIFA 15 and one controller for R2,999.

The specials are valid until 5 May.

BT Games Mortal Kombat X console bundles

BT Games is continuing the celebration of Mortal Kombat by offering up two different bundles this weekend.

A 500GB Xbox One console, with two controllers and Mortal Kombat X is priced at R6,699.90; while a PS4 500GB console, one controller, and Mortal Kombat X bundle is priced at R6,499.90.

Kalahari under R200 gaming sale

Kalahari is still running its under R200 gaming sale, pricing a host of console and PC games at R199 or less.

Some of the great games on offer include Uncharted 3, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Resident Evil 6 and God of War Collection 2.

Kalahari’s PS4 special

Before Kalahari has its big merger with Takealot at the April, the online retailer has adjusted its Playstation 4 price, giving you just enough time to order one of you want to jump on one of Kalahari’s last good deals.

Kalahari has just lowered the price of its 500GB Playstation 4 console and DualShock 4 from R5,999 to R5,799 – saving you R200.

This isn’t the first time the online retailer has done this, as the price originally dropped to R5,299 for a limited time during a gaming sale.

Some gamers were holding off on buying a current-gen console, but with some great games like Bloodborne, Mortal Kombat X, and GTA V now on PS4, it’s definitely worth looking at.

Makro Xbox One and PS4 specials

Those looking for a Xbox One deal, Makro’s bundle includes a 500GB console, one controller, and the Halo Master Chief Collection (to give a little bit of Halo nostalgia), all for R6,299.

If a PS4 is more you choice, there is a bundle on offer which includes the 500GB console, two DualShock 4 controllers, two games (Mortal Kombat X and Injustice: Gods Among Us), and a temporary tattoo sleeve, because… why not.

Both bundle prices are valid until 27 April.

    I really really need to stop reading this post. Last time it got me into trouble as I did buy Mortal Kombat X for R649.

    I hardly see saving R200 on a ps4 as a win. R500 or more yes but R200 is unconvincing. I really want to get one but I am a less than casual gamer. The last time I played a game was in December and then before that was probably the December before that. There are some really awesome looking games coming out that I would like to get around to.

      I think the R200 saving doesn’t look like much, but the original R5,999 price is pretty good already, so in total its a solid price.
