Top 6 Movie Badasses Of All Time
Which action heroes, kung-fu stars, and sci-fi legends are badass enough to make the list? Let’s find out…
Cinema history is filled with some pretty tough characters, but there are some that stand out above the rest and have become the benchmark for what is considered a true badass.
Check our list of the top 6 movie badasses of all time:
John McClane
(Die Hard series)
John McLane is one of the unluckiest police officers ever – everything from his Christmas celebrations to his family reunions have been ruined, and he always tries to keep his cool until the moment he snaps and goes all ‘yippee ki-yay’ on a bunch of henchmen and their boss. What makes us love McLane is that he’s human, just like us – he bleeds, feels and laughs – but he also knows how to bash a head in or two, or destroy an airborne helicopter with a car, which is awesome.
John Rambo
(Rambo series)
Of course, Rambo has to be on this list. Mr. John Rambo went from being an outcast in society to a someone the military had to beg to come and sort out their dirty work. While he can overthrow crooked government, destroy rebel groups and wield a machine-gun with one hand, he’s not a man of many words – and there’s something about that which gets bros high-fiving around the world.
Indiana Jones
(Indiana Jones series)
Ole Indy – he may not be the typical action hero – being all archeological and what-not – but he more than makes up for it with wit, charisma and a cracking whip. He’s done it all too: survived ruthless Nazis, crazy Mayans, and even an alien temple (although we’d like to forget the latter ever happened).
Rocky Balboa
(Rocky series)
Yeah, so Sylvester Stallone features twice in this list – sue us. Rocky taught us that it’s not how many times you get knocked down, but how many times you can get back up that counts, and he got knocked down a lot, but always seemed to crawling his way back into a fight and take the belt. Rocky is the epitome of persevering badassery.
Darth Vader
(Star Wars series)
Lord Vader is pure evil and we love him. If we doesn’t like someone, or even something you just said, he’ll just choke you out with his mind. Simple. As bad and destructive as Vader is throughout the Star Wars saga, he always got fans excited when he was in the scene, because you knew he was going to do something totally badass.
Bruce Lee
(Fist of Fury, Enter the Dragon, Way of the Dragon)
And what’s a badass-list without the legendary Bruce Lee? Even in his short career, Lee managed to capture American and world audiences with his incredible feats of martial arts, unbelievable physique, and entertaining movies. He also beat the hell out of Chuck Norris… so yeah.

Does that make Stallone the ultimate movie badass?

I think John Mclane should be dropped from this list and replaced with Axel Foley from Beverly-Hills Cop. McClane got lame in the last few Die Hard movies. Axel was always the man.
