There are some man-tastic movies hitting South African cinemas this weekend, including an action thriller, an intense crime-drama and a sci-fi epic from Christopher Nolan that’s sure to blow the socks off you.

The Prince
Friday, 7 November

Bruce Willis returns to the big screen in The Prince, but he won’t be playing the hero this time around, as Willis takes on the role of a villain who kidnaps a retired assassin’s daughter. The abduction draws the former assassin (played by Jason Patric) into the life he gave up.

To rescue her, he must confront his former rival. And to do so, yip, you guessed it, he’s got to bash in a few heads, shoot some dudes and ask some tough questions.

Blood Ties
Friday, 7 November

Clive Owen, Billy Crudup, Marion Cotillard, Milla Kunis, and Zoe Saldana all star in this crime thriller set in 1970s New York.

The story follows two brothers who are on either side of the law, with Chris (Clive Owen) having just been released from prison and Frank (Billy Crudup), a cop with a bright future. The two reunite, but with Chris’ innevitable return to the life of crime following his release, the two brothers clash over Brooklyn’s organised crime.

Interstellar
7 November

Said to be Christopher Nolan’s longest movie ever made, Interstellar is set to raise the bar in terms of an epic big-screen spectacle, with fantastic visuals, solid acting and a captivating sci-fi story.

Interstellar follows a group of explorers who make use of a newly discovered wormhole to surpass the limitations on human space travel and conquer the vast distances involved in an interstellar voyage.
