Puma Launches Specialised Trail Running Collection in SA

Puma has launched a new outdoor footwear and apparel collection called ‘Seasons’, a line of elevated performance pieces made with technical materials and innovative, stay-dry features for all seasons.

The Seasons collection is rooted in trail running and versatile for outdoor activities. Created to protect against the elements by using functional, performance materials in its multi-terrain trail footwear, and Sympatex — a three-layer waterproof, windproof, and breathable fabric made from 100% recycled material — in the Stormcell Jacket.

Erin Longin, General Manager, Puma Run Train, explained that the collection was created with the ‘new normal’ in mind. The national lockdown saw the closure of gyms and studios and more and more people looking to the outdoors for fitness, health, and wellness. “We knew this would be a lasting behaviour and people were looking for gear that would perform in the outdoor environment, which is why we created Seasons as an extension of our Run Puma performance collection,” said Longin.

The apparel collection uses cell technologies — Stormcell, Raincell, Drycell, and Warmcell — to protect against the elements. Key products in the launch collection feature a waterproof Stormcell Jacket, Raincell Jacket / Pant, and Down Jacket for the autumn, winter season. The collection also features new additions to PUMA’s trail running footwear offering, with a new, lightweight trail shoe in Fast-Trac Nitro and an updated Voyage Nitro 2.

Seasons Raincell Jacket

An elevated water-repellent outer layer, the Seasons Raincell Jacket features an adjustable hood with a visor and bungee collar for wet weather protection. An extended cuff with hook and loop closure offers additional coverage and a secure fit. Internal seam sealing in key areas acts as an extra barrier, so you can power through, whatever the forecast. Two bonded zip-front pockets provide convenient dry storage for everything—from phone to fuel.

Seasons Raincell Pant

Featuring stretch material, the Seasons Raincell Pant provides water-repellent coverage without restriction. Reinforced articulated knees further the ease of movement and add durability, while an elastic back waistband with belt loops and full zip fly with hook and loop closure ensure a stay-put fit. The gusseted zipper ankle offers enhanced shoe coverage, and two bonded zip front pockets are ideal for stashing essentials. Adventure on – rain or shine.

Fast-Trac Nitro

Equally capable on trial, gravel, and mixed terrain, this lightweight running shoe will do it all and will take you wherever you want to go. The Fast-Trac Nitro lets you run connected to the ground with protection, while providing ground-breaking value and styling for all runners, in the 4 seasons.

The full-length Nitro top-layer is embedded in the ProFoamLite midsole. Pumagrip ATR is a more durable version of our award-winning rubber, to give great grip in mud, or rocky terrain. The upper has a nice pattern showing off impressive detailing and material strength. The integrated eyestay pulls snug to the foot for a secure fit, and nice detailing speaks of the outdoor vibes. A padded tongue and collar provide comfort, while the toe offers both drainage and some protection from debris.

Fast-Trac Nitro is available in both men’s and women’s sizes, for R2,599 each.

Voyage Nitro 2

The Voyage Nitro 2 is Puma’s max cushion Trail shoe delivering an all-terrain solution with comfort and dynamic styling for all runners, in the 4 seasons.

This franchise has a two-part midsole, with Nitro foam under-foot for cushioning and responsiveness. The proprietary Pumagrip rubber will provide even better traction on ice, mud, and all-weather conditions. The Voyage offers durability and protection at its finest.

This new upper accommodates a wider variety of foot shapes and is both lightweight and tough. The Voyage sheds water like a champ thanks to forefoot drain ports, and keeps debris out thanks to an innovative heel mud-guard.
