It may be cold outside but we’re feeling the heat thanks to Louisiana Hot Sauce. The original Louisiana Hot Sauce continues to build a solid fan base in South Africa and now, to mark this growth, the brand has launched its social platforms in South Africa — the first country to do so outside of America.

Louisiana Hot Sauce got its start in 1928 in New Iberia, Louisiana, by carefully selecting the best peppers, combining them with vinegar and salt and leaving them to ferment during the ageing process. The result was a perfectly simple balance of heat and flavour that earned a reputation for quality and taste. More than 95 years later, Louisiana Hot Sauce is still made the same way in the same place with the same high standards ensuring it is perfectly balanced, perfectly original and always perfectly Louisiana.

Available at over 350 independent retailers and at almost 200 Spar stores in South Africa today, Louisiana Hot Sauce continues to find its way into households and restaurants as the preferred hot sauce for many who enjoy heat without compromising on flavour. This year, it will launch social platforms in South Africa, the first country to do so outside of the United States, as it further entrenches itself in local cuisine and culture at the tip of Africa.

This sauce that packs a punch in terms of bringing the heat and the flavour arrived in South Africa in 2021 when local company, Cracking Cravings, saw a ‘gaping void’ in the market. What started as a small passion project to bring the sauce into the country, has turned into Louisiana Hot Sauce making a splash at mealtimes.

This sauce gets a big thumbs up from me. It’s simple in all the right ways and has a strong cayenne flavour, with a mild level of heat. The sauce can easily complement a lot of different dishes without overwhelming the flavours. I’ve loved trying it on pizza, baked potatoes, chicken wings, and even splashed on a steak.

Not sure how to make the most of your hot sauce? The socials have got you covered! As part of the digital strategy, Louisiana Hot Sauce SA Instagram account will be a combination of brand content as well as influencer and user generated content to showcase how South Africans are enjoying their hot sauce. It’s the perfect place to go to for inspiration on how to spice things up with Louisiana Hot Sauce. Rumour has it, Louisiana Hot Sauce is perfect to add to your oil when making popcorn for a movie night, an essential addition to fried eggs, and a non-negotiable with chicken wings.

What’s more, the brand, which is recognisable at a distance on any shelf, recently underwent a refresh that saw its branding in South Africa mirroring its global CI. The 177ml bottle retails for under R70 across multiple retailers, and it’s a worthwhile addition to any hot sauce collection.
