Love photography but want to take a step up from that oh-so-basic point and shoot you’re currently using? You’re in luck because Canon has just announced the launch of it latest mirrorless camera, the Canon EOS RP, and it’s the smallest and lightest full-frame EOS camera ever made. Perfect for advanced amateurs, this small, light and practical full frame mirrorless camera will be ideal for photography on-the-go while still offering exceptional performance features that you would expect from a bulkier, more expensive device.

This new addition to the Canon range is sure to have a lot of photography enthusiasts geeking out. It’s part of the same EOS R family that Canon introduced last year, but promises to be lighter on both your back and your wallet. Just like its predecessor, the EOS RP features a dual-pixel CMOS autofocus system, which Canon says offers the world’s fastest autofocus speed of 0.05 seconds. As for the sensor, the EOS RP features a 26.2 megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor, with an ISO range between 40 000 and 102 400, giving you better image quality in low light conditions.

In terms of video functionality, the EOS RP can shoot up to 4K at 25fps, or Full HD at 60fps thanks to the DIGIC 8 processor. The camera also has built-in stereo microphones to make recording just a little bit easier. On the back of the EOS RP is a 0.39-inch, OLED electronic viewfinder and a 3-inch, Vari-angle touchscreen LCD that supports Touch-and-Drag autofocus.

The EOS RP weigh just 485g with a battery and card, is water/dust resistance, and offers a battery life of about 250 shots, with USB charging.
