DJI Unleashes its Most Advanced Drone Ever, the Matrice 200 Series
DJI introduces its most ambitious and advanced drone to date!
DJI have already been hitting it out the park lately with the release of the stellar Mavic Pro and Phantom 4 Pro, but the leaders in drone technology are taking things to new heights with the announcement of the Matrice 200 series.
So, what is it exactly? Well, essentially the Matrice in its simplest form is a drone created specifically for enterprise solutions – whether that be aerial inspections, environment mapping, data collection, or even search-and-rescue missions. Oh yeah, it’s also the most advanced the company has ever created, and that says a lot.
In addition to recreational purposes, DJI explains that the reason for the creation of the Matrice 200 series is due to the company’s commitment to helping advance professional drone use.
“Drones have quickly become a standard part of the enterprise toolkit and industrial users have come to rely on DJI technology to efficiently collect aerial data,” said Paul Guo, Director Enterprise Solutions at DJI. “With the M200 series, DJI introduces a holistic solution designed specifically for these users. We are revolutionizing professional workflows by making it possible to use advanced sensors in various combinations to make sophisticated tasks such as bridge inspections, land surveying and search-and-rescue missions, easier, safer and more reliable than ever before.”
The M200 series comes in three versions. The standard M200, equipped with one downward-facing gimbal mount, the M210, which allows for multiple mount configurations and third-party accessories, and the creme de la creme of them all, the M210 RTK, which is available with D-RTK modules for centimeter-precision navigation.
While the Matrice 200 series is already incredible impressive with its 20 internal sensors, a compass, redundant battery fail safes, a GPS system, dual inertial measurement units (IMUs) and three barometers, the M200 series also includes DJI AirSense, a built-in ADS-B receiver, to transmit the necessary information and data to operators to enable safer and more efficient use of airspace, particularly in locations where other manned aircraft may be operating.
The M200, the M210 and the M210 RTK are available for pre-order from official DJI Enterprise dealers and will start shipping in Q2 2017. Local pricing details and information on where to buy the M200 series in South Africa will be announced in due course. More as we hear it!
