Huawei’s Next Watch Features Built-in Earbuds, and It’s Coming to South Africa
Huawei’s Watch Buds wearable is making its way to SA shores. Here’s what you need to know

Huawei has been expanding the wearable market for a while now, and one of the most exciting devices launching in South Africa in the foreseeable future is the next iteration of the company’s Watch line-up, the Huawei Watch Buds.
The Watch Buds isn’t just the next instalment after the Watch GT range, but it actually a combination of the Chinese company’s sophisticated smartwatch and the brand’s in-ear pods, allowing users to store the earbuds inside the watch, while using them with the device to save yourself from having a paired smartphone.
The face of the watch opens to reveal placements for the buds, which are connected via a magnetic dock. The watch itself features a 3D curved display and steel body, delivering a high-quality and premium build for the hardware. It also features a full-grain leather strap in two colours.
As for the buds, they feature innovative wide-area auricle touch controls that allow you to tap the earbuds, auricles, or area in front of the ears twice to answer and reject calls or play and pause tracks, and tap three times to activate and disable noise cancellation.
At the South African launch of the Huawei P60 Pro, Huawei did confirm that the Huawei Watch Buds will launch in South Africa at some point, but a specific time and pricing were not specified.
