Apple has unveiled the next iteration of the company’s iPhone range, the iPhone 16, with local retailer iStore confirming some details about availability and pre-orders.

In a country first, iStore South Africa announced it will be launching the iPhone 16 range on the same day as the United States and other major markets. The iPhone 16 range will officially be available from 20 September 2024, with pre-orders opening on 13 September.

Price-wise, the US pricing for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus start at $799 (around R14,300) and $899 (R16,000), respectively, and are available in five different colours: white, black, ultramarine, pink, and teal. The larger iPhone 16 Pro is set to retail for $999 (around R18,000), while the top-tier iPhone 16 Pro Max starts at $1,199 (around R21,500).
