Apple sent out invitations to the press Thursday for a product launch event on 9 September, which is very likely to be the unveiling of the next iPhone.

The event, which will be held at the Flint Center in Cupertino, California, points to a new smartphone instalment from the massive tech company, according to Business Insider.

The whispers around the iPhone 6 are reaching an all-time high ahead of the reveal, and its rumoured that Apple’s next flagship phone will “likely” come in two different models: a 4.7-inch and a 5.5-inch version, according to sources familiar with Japan’s Nikkei factory.

There aren’t many details on the design and features of the yet-to-be-announced phone, but patents and concept designs suggest Apple will do away with the curved edges as to create a sharper design.
