What better time to indulge in some gaming goodness than the weekend? The local retailers seem to agree with us and are offering up some alluring deals to taunt our wallets.

EA games have been delivering the goods lately with some quality releases that have got many franchises back on track, and local online retailer Raru is running a special on some of the biggest titles.

Battlefield 4, EA Sports UFC, FIFA 14, Need for Speed Rivals, and 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil (with most being on multiple platforms) are the series which have been hit with the price-drop.

Kalahari PS4 special

The console price war seems to be at code red, and local retailers are adjusting their Playstation 4 and Xbox One prices accordingly.

Kalahari has just lowered the price of its 500GB Playstation 4 console and DualShock 4 from R5,999 to R5,699 – saving you R400.

This isn’t the first time the online retailer has done this, as the price originally dropped to R5,299 for a limited time during a gaming sale.

 BT Games’ Birthday specials

Guess what? A local retailer has turned a year older, and you know what that means? Specials.

This time, it’s gaming store BT Games, and the nationwide retailer is offering up some tempting console, peripheral and gaming specials that are pretty hard to ignore.

The specials are valid until 6 April.

Having a look at some of the most appealing specials, an Xbox One console and two controllers is priced at R5,999.90.

As for some discounts on games, the likes of Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, Battlefield 4 and Alien: Isolation on PS4 are R399.90 each, while Thief, Need for Speed Rivals and Lords of the Fallen on Xbox One are R399.90 each too.
