Nintendo Switch 2 Officially Revealed: Here’s What You Need to Know
Nintendo finally lifts the lid on its upcoming Switch 2 console.

After much speculation, Nintendo has officially unveiled the company’s next console, the Switch 2. As the successor to the Nintendo Switch system, the new system will be released in 2025 and brings a host of new improvements and features over the original machine.
Not too many specifics of the hardware were given, but a ‘first look’ video shows redesigned controls, a larger display, and a new docking system.
In terms of games, the Switch 2 will obviously play releases exclusive to the Switch 2, as well as both physical and digital original Switch games. However, it was confirmed that some Switch 1 games may not be supported on or fully compatible with Nintendo Switch 2.
Nintendo is set to break down the details of the console even further on 2 April 2025 at the next Nintendo Direct event.
Pricing and an actual 2025 release date is yet to be announced.
