ROG Ally: Windows-Powered Portable Gaming Device Revealed by Asus, Coming to SA
Asus’ handheld gaming device is heading to South Africa.

Under Asus’ Republic of Gamers (ROG) brand, the company has announced a brand-spanking new handheld gaming device, the ROG Ally. The device itself is a portable Windows 11 gaming device that fits into the handheld gaming market popularised by Valve’s Steam Deck.
The ROG Ally is powered by an AMD Ryzen Z1 series processor, 16GBs of LPDDR5 RAM, RDNA 3 graphics, and comes in two variants: 256GBs and 512GBs. It features a 7-inch, 1920×1080 IPS LCD display with 120 Hz, weighs in at 608 grams, and includes an ergonomic design.

The Ally also houses ROG’s Zero Gravity thermal system, which uses a dual-fan system with ultra-thin heatsink fins and high-friction heat pipes to ensure the Ally stays cool in any orientation.
The ROG Ally runs Windows 11, meaning gamers can access all of their publisher libraries and game streaming services on a single device, so you’ll be able to Xbox GamePass, Steam, EA Play and others.

Asus ROG Ally in South Africa
The ROG Ally will be available in South Africa, although a local release date and pricing are yet to be announced.
The official ROG Ally launch event will be held on 11 May 2023, and can be streamed online via the Asus ROG website.
