Even with the delay of Assassin’s Creed: Shadows (now coming in February 2025), October is a massive month for gaming, with some long-awaited returns of some big-name franchises, a few interesting sequels, and some exciting new IPs to sink your teeth into. Here are the games to look out for in October 2024:

Parcel Corps

Release date: 3 October 2024 (Xbox Series X/S | PS5 | PC)

Any Playstation 1 fans will likely remember Courier Crisis, a bizarre and admittedly bonkers game about delivering packages as a bike courier. Well, Parcel Corps is a throwback spiritual successor, of sorts, allowing you to negotiate levels with a stylish, expansive skillset. Catch air from rooftop ramps, slide under articulated vehicles, defy gravity by riding along walls, and create your own lines through a bustling, vibrant city.

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Patrick Star Game

Release date: 4 October 2024 (Xbox Series X/S | PS5 | PC)

Spongebob fans will know that the licensed games are actually pretty good, and now Spongebob’s starfish friend Patrick gets his own time in the limelight. In The Patrick Star Game, Bikini Bottom is your open-world playground, allowing you to goof around, take on challenges, and enjoy the physics-based chaos that unfolds all around you.

Until Dawn Remaster

Silent Hill 2 Remake

Release date: 8 October 2024 (PS5 | PC)

After the incredible success of Resident Evil 23, and 4 remakes, Konami is trying its hand at its own horror classic and updating 2001’s Silent Hill 2 for modern systems. Developed by Bloober Team, who did 2021’s The Medium, the Silent Hill 2 remake takes a more dedicated third-person perspective, runs on a new engine, and has overhauled combat, much like the Resident Evil entries. For those who may have never played the original, the story of Silent Hill 2 centres around James, who after having received a letter from his deceased wife (strange), heads to where they shared so many memories, in the hope of seeing her one more time.

Dragon Ball Z: Sparking! Zero

Release date: 11 October 2024 (Xbox Series X/S | PS5 | PC)

Dragon Ball Z‘s fighting series has gone through some serious evolution in recent years, but Sparking!
