6 Hottest Games Coming in February 2019
Here are the notable game releases in February that you should keep on your radar!
Open-world action titles are the order of the month with a well-known franchise launching its next instalment, and some newer players also coming to the party. Don’t worry racing and fighting fans, there are some promising titles ready to keep you happy, too!
Anthem
Release date: 22 February 2019 (Xbox One | PS4 | PC)
A lot of hype has built around Anthem; and it’s finally time to sink our teeth into it. Players will find themselves on a world left unfinished by mystical beings, where mankind is struggling to survive against all kinds of threats – and as a bearer of a Javelin ‘exosuit’, it’s your mission to help tip the balance in favour of humanity. Fans of other third-person shooters or shooters in general will want to check out Anthem.
Crackdown 3
Release date: 15 February 2019 (Xbox One | PC)
Tired of ‘realism’ and ‘accuracy’ in action video games and just want some larger-than-life, fast-paced mayhem? Then Crackdown is your jam. If the voice in the trailer (and the likeness of the protagonist) seemed familiar, your eyes and ears didn’t fool you – that is Terry Crews. In a futuristic city, you’re going to face off against a host of threats, and you need to smash, crash, blow-up, punch, and ram through every last one of them, preferably doing as much damage in the process.
Far Cry: New Dawn
Release date: 15 February 2019 (Xbox One | PS4 | PC)
Far Cry has been one of the best open-world action adventure franchises of the last decade, and it seems like the solid run is set to continue. This time, you’re flung into the tattered remains of Hope County (which we visited in Far Cry 5), now a dystopian wilderness that survived a global nuclear catastrophe 17 years prior. If you thought you tangled with some interesting rivals in the previous titles, wait until you see what ‘the Twins’ have in store for you. This will just be the best kind of AAA video gaming you can find.
Jump Force
Release date: 15 February 2019 (Xbox One | PS4 | PC)
The franchise cross-over fighting genre has a few decent titles floating around, but one of the most exciting releases in line this year is Jump Force. A collection of everyone’s favourite anime universes and characters will need to team up to fight off their collection of adversaries and enemies – with what appears to be a seriously fast-paced and vibrant combat system. So team up with Goku, Luffy, Naruto, and the rest of the squad to kick some serious ass this month.
Metro: Exodus
Release date: 15 February 2019 (Xbox One | PS4 | PC)
Haven’t had your FPS adventure itch scratched sufficiently yet? Metro Exodus can give you another fix. It’s a heavily story-driven survival horror set in a post-apocalyptic setting that continues the events of Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light. Scavenging resources and items from the environment, you’ll combine and upgrade weaponry to fight off bizarre, mutated creatures and violent humans. Fans of franchises like Far Cry and Fallout should really check out the Metro series.
Dirt Rally 2.0
Release date: 26 February 2019 (Xbox One | PS4 | PC)
Codemasters have returned to their Dirt franchise with Rally 2.0 – and they’ve brought new improvements in a number of areas. The first and most noticeable is the new locations for tracks that add different environments and challenges to navigate. Another cool feature that has been built on is track degradation; as you smash and bump your way through the course, small changes will occur that you’ll need to take into considerations to hit all your corners as smoothly as possible. If you need some high octane racing action Dirt Rally 2.0 should be this month’s consideration.
