8 Awesome Games on Sale this Weekend
We round up the best game specials that you should take note of!

The weekend has arrived! And with it, there are some epic games on sale, but instead of listing everything available (which can be quite overwhelming), we’ve hand-picked the very best games on sale that we love and that you should take a shot at this week!
Batman: Arkham Knight (PS4) — R284
Much like Christopher Nolan having to achieve expectations and bring a climactic close to his Dark Knight film trilogy, developer Rocksteady had a massive task at hand to send the Arkham trilogy off with a bang. The result is Arkham Knight, which features everything we love about the franchise, peppered with some new elements to mix up the bad-guy beatdown sessions a bit more; and Rocksteady’s final game for the franchise did the caped crusader proud. Check out the special here.
Left 4 Dead 2 — R54.75 (PC – Steam)
The original Left 4 Dead lived up to its promise and the sequel took the brilliant co-op survival chaos even further. The premise of Left 4 Dead 2 remains the same as the first: survive hordes of the undead, as well as some other nasty creatures, until you reach a safe house or evacuation point, and it’s on special this week from Steam. Check out the special here.
Horizon: Zero Dawn — R799 (Loot)
Yeah, Horizon: Zero Dawn launched just last week, but the exciting new PS4 exclusive has already been slapped with a special price of R799 from Loot this weekend. We’ve been playing it (read our full review here) and to say it’s a must-play is an understatement. Check out the special here.
Battlefield 4 (Xbox One) — R49.75
Battlefield 1 may be the latest entry into the EA’s big FPS franchise, but Battlefield 4 still has an incredibly active and dedicated user base, and its on special for R49.75 from Xbox Live this week. Check out the special here.
Hitman: Absolution (PS3) — R199
While the new Hitman: The Complete Season has just launched, the previous game, Hitman: Absolution is a great title in its own right. It’s on special from Raru for R199.
Splinter Cell: Conviction (Xbox 360) — R199
Splinter Cell: Conviction has to be one of the best in the series – a stripped-down version of everyone’s favourite goggled-spy, Sam Fisher. A brilliant title that’s on special on Xbox 360 from Raru for R199.
Dishonored 2 (Loot)
The first Dishonored opened the world of supernatural assassinations to gamers and the sequel takes the Dishonored world to new heights. Players are able to choose between playing as Corvo or his daughter Emily in this slick-looking follow-up which takes place in the coastal city of Karnaca rather than the grimy streets of Dunwall. Players can also use a variety of new supernatural powers to hunt down their targets, but it’s also said that the game can be finished without taking a life. Dishonored 2 is on special on PS4 and Xbox One from Loot.
- Dishonored 2 (PS4) – R498
- Dishonored 2 (Xbox One) – R485
Dying Light – R389 (Takealot)
So, should you’re asking yourself: ‘should I buy Dying Light?’. The answer is another question: do you enjoy Rambo movies? George Romero-esque zombie flicks? The idea of drop kicking zombies into spikes? If the answer to these questions is ‘yes’, then you’ll be glad to know it’s on special on Xbox One and PS4 from Takealot.
- Dying Light (PS4) – R389
- Dying Light (Xbox One) – R389
