A Closer-Look at Call of Duty: World War II’s Multiplayer
War is coming.
After three years of space battles, jet packs, and futuristic weaponry, the Call of Duty franchise is heading back to its boots-on-the-ground World War II heritage, and we couldn’t be happier.
Ahead of the game’s November release date, Activision and Sledgehammer have announced that the private beta for CoD: WWII will go live on 25 August, along with releasing a trailer that showcases some more of the game’s online action.
The beta will be available on PS4 for those who pre-ordered, and will include three maps (Pointe Du Hoc, Ardennes and Gibraltar) and three familiar modes (Team Deathmatch, Domination and Hardpoint), along with a new match-type called War Mode.
“War, developed in partnership with our friends at Raven Software, is a new way to play Call of Duty Multiplayer in an immersive Allied vs. Axis fight across the war-torn village of St. Lo, France,” developer Sledgehammer Games said.
The beta will be available on Xbox One on 1 September for Xbox gamers who pre-ordered.
