Borderlands 4, Mafia 4, and The All the Big Reveals from Gamescom
Here are the hottest announcements and trailers from Gamescom.

Gamescom’s Opening Live Night show revealed some new games to get excited about, with a handful of big surprises and worst-kept secrets coming to light through some reveal trailers. Here are some of the biggest and most interesting game announcements:
Inzoi
Inzoi is a new life-sim, kind of like The Sims, but running on Unreal Engine 5 with a deep customisation and character creation toolset. It comes from Krafton, who owns the game studio behind PUBG.
Borderlands 4
Gearbox unveiled Borderlands 4 through a cinematic trailer, not giving much of a look at the game, but knowing that more lootin’-‘n-shooting is on the way is always a good thing.
Mafia: The Old Country
It was known that a fourth main Mafia game was in the works, and Hangar 13 unveiled it to be Mafia: The Old Country, a single-player experience set in the early 1900s in Sicily chronicling the origins of the original mafia enclave.
Sniper Elite: Resistance
The headshotting Sniper Elite series takes a pivot with a brand-new protagonist in a different time of World War 2, setting out the new sharpshooting hero on an adventure to stop a potentially game-changing Nazi innovation.
Goat Simulator Remastered
Those who love silly, physics-based chaos will be excited to know that the original Goat Simulator is getting a remaster for current-gen consoles and PC.
Dying Light: The Beast
Zombie-survival parkour series Dying Light is getting a full new adventure, but instead of Dying Light 3, it’s called Dying Light: The Beast, and stars the original game’s protagonist, Kyle Crane.
The Dark Pictures Anthology: Directive 8020
Supermassive Games’ Dark Pictures Anthology of narrative and choice-driven horror stories have become beloved in the industry, but the studios’ next game adds a sci-fi element to the universe (looking a little Dead Space and The Callisto Protocol-ish) and a host of new gameplay features.
Reanimal
The studio behind Little Nightmares has another game cooking in the oven (in addition to Little Nightmares 3). Reanimal is actually pretty similar to the developer’s other games, but takes a more mature and horrifying approach to the 3D platforming, co-op adventure formula.
