FromSoftware Is Ready to Release a Dark Souls – Game of Thrones Hybrid
Here’s what you need to know about Elden Ring.

We finally have a release date for one of the most anticipated horror RPGs. Elden Ring will hit the shelves on 21 January 2022. Action/horror game experts FromSoftware and Game of Thrones novelist George R.R. Martin joined forces and worked hard for almost five years in order to create a game that will redefine the rules of action role-playing games. With a story that could have been a spin-off of the popular HBO series or which could have overthrown Lord of the Rings from the throne of fantasy adventure novels, Elden Ring aims to increase FromSoftware’s customer base and to create a new generation of horror RPG gamers.
Just Another FromSoftware Horror Masterpiece
Just like every other game released by FromSoftware, Elden Ring is going to be a hard-to-beat title. This means that it is not for gamers who simply want to smash and grab, or for those who want to let the game do most of the work for them, which is something most commonly seen in online slot games like Cherry Love where the fun starts the moment you click the “Spin” button. Just like its sibling titles, Dark Souls, Bloodborne and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Elden Ring will take dozens of hours to beat, simply because of the level of difficulty. Players will have to try over and over again in order to defeat challenging enemies. Previous FromSoftware game experience will make beating the game a little bit easier, simply because players will know what to expect.
A Dark Souls Where You Can Ride a Horse
If you watch the first trailer of Elden Ring, then you will get the impression that FromSoftware’s new game is something like a ninth-generation Dark Souls, where you get to explore your surroundings on the back of a horse. The movement mechanics and the battle system are very similar to those of previous FromSoftware titles. The enemies look and feel as if they came out from Dark Souls or Bloodborne and the levelling system is almost identical to that of Sekiro. The only difference is that in this game, players will get to create their character the way they like right from the start. The developers decided to give that freedom to Elden Ring players in order to enhance the RPG element of the game. After all, half of the fun with role-playing games is creating characters and completing missions in order to level them up.
Knowing How to Promote Your Product
During a recent interview, Hidetaka Miyazaki, the creator of Elden Ring, gave players a taste of the upcoming horror-action RPG. Even though Miyazaki did most of the donkey work, he made sure to praise his associates and, of course, novelist George R.R. Martin. After all, every game needs a little bit of publicity and promoting Elden Ring as a by-product of Game of Thrones can do more than just help with the marketing of the game. FromSoftware games normally sell around ten million copies, but Elden Ring is expected to sell more copies than any other From title. The pre-ordering period has already begun, and the current figures seem more than just promising.
Elden Ring will launch on 21 January 2022 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and PC.
