Hitman Complete season

As January comes to a close and February has its time in the limelight, the gaming release schedule starts to heat up – and we have some interesting-looking games arriving this week, including the return of everyone’s favourite barcoded assassin, some ancient warriors, and a woolly dinosaur. Here’s what you need to know about the games releasing this week, 30 January – 5 February 2017:

Double Dragon IV

Release date: 30 January 2017 (PS4); 31 January 2017 (PC)

Double Dragon IV may look like an old game ported to the current-gen consoles, but it is in fact a brand-new game and long-awaited sequel to the veteran side-scrolling Double Dragon beat-’em-up series. The co-op brawler features a fully-fledged story mode which picks up following the events of Double Dragon II, along with a duel mode where you fight against another player, and a tower mode where you keep fighting and climbing until you die. There are loads of characters to unlock and the visuals look suitably retro-tastic. Double Dragon IV looks like a lot of fun!

Hitman: The Complete First Season

Release date: 31 January 2017 (PS4, Xbox One, PC)

Hitman: The Complete First Season is a retail edition of the episodic game series from 2016 (which we really enjoyed), and includes every location, challenge, and contract from the respective chapters. This means players will have access to Paris, Sapienza, Marrakesh, Bangkok, USA and Japan episodes in order to unleash some stealthy assassinations. In addition, the retail release includes a 3 Bonus Missions pack, covering the special summer missions The Icon and A House Built on Sand, plus the upcoming Landslide mission. Buyers will get the game’s original soundtrack, a Making Of documentary, and the Hitman Blood Money Pack, which offers up the signature white Blood Money suit.

Dynasty Warriors: Godseekers

Release date: 1 February (PS4, PS Vita)

This new entry in the Dynasty Warriors tactics spin-off series introduces two new characters, and a whole lot of grid-based combat. It’s a tangent from the fast-paced hack-‘n-slash combat of the main series as it requires a lot more strategy and foresight, rather than running in swords swinging. The game is set in the Three Kingdoms period of Chinese History – the time where China was comprised of three state, Wei, Shu, and Wu, which took place between the Han and Jin dynasty.

Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World

Release date: 3 February (3DS)

Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World brings all the adorableness of the Wii U version to the 3DS. Now you can take Yoshi’s cute yarn world on the go with you. Discover secrets and enjoy woolly transformations in all the levels from the Wii U versions and new ones made exclusively for the 3DS. The biggest new feature to the game is the addition of Poochy. You can choose to play levels as either Poochy or Yoshi, and also tackle exclusive Poochy dash stages. Like the Wii U version, you can also find special patterns and switch between them in the Yoshi Hut, but you can also design personalised patterns that can be shared via street pass. The game also includes special stop-motion videos featuring Yoshi and Poochy to enjoy.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 – Road to Boruto

Release date: 5 February (Xbox One, PS4, PC)

This final expansion for Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 marks the conclusion of the Ultimate Ninja Storm series. Road to Boruto adds an entirely new adventure with plenty of houses of gameplay. It focuses on Naruto’s son, Boruto as he explores a new Hidden Leaf Village. Fans will be introduced to a whole new generation of ninjas. The physical version of Road to Boruto will include the original Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 game, its three DLC content packs, the new Road to Boruto expansion, and all the previously exclusive pre-order bonus content. The content packs include: Gaar’as Tale extra scenario pack, Shikamaru’s Tale extra scenario pack, and the Sound Four playable character pack. The expansion will further round out the huge character roster adding in Boruto, Sarada, Hokage Naruto, and Sasuke (Wandering Shinobi). It’ll also add new collection and challenge elements to add even more content to explore.
