The allure of the December break is edging closer and closer, and there are a few notable games arriving on retailer shelves and digital stores this week that you should keep on your radar.

Okami HD

Release date: 12 December 2017 (PS4 | Xbox One)

One of the most underplayed-yet-brilliant games of all time is getting a re-release on PS4 and Xbox One this week. For those who may not be familiar, Okami was originally released for PS2 in 2006, developed by Clover Studio, a now-defunct subsidiary of Capcom that also produced the Viewtiful Joe series. Okami garnered universal acclaim thanks to its beautiful visuals, which were inspired by traditional Japanese sumi-e paintings, and its Zelda-like gameplay.

Battlefield 1: Turning Tides expansion

Release date: 11 December 2017 (Xbox One | PS4 | PC)

Battlefield 1 sees its third expansion arriving this week, bringing multiplayer fans some new maps, weapons and vehicles to keep you busy this holiday season. The Turning Tides expansion is releasing in two waves — in December and January — but as for the first bit, you’ll get two new maps: Cape Helles and Achi Baba, along with six new weapons and two new melee weapons, like the M1917 Trench Carbine and Maschinenpistole M1912/P.16. Also featured in the December content is a new Operation set in 1915 on the Gallipoli peninsula and the L-Class Destroyer.

Resident Evil 7: Gold Edition

Release date: 12 December 2017 (Xbox One | PS4 | PC)

Resident Evil 7 will be getting a special Gold edition this week, which comes packaged with the full base game and all of the add-on content, which includes both Banned Footage DLC add-ons and the new End of Zoe campaign, which, for those of you who’ve finished the game, focuses on one of the Baker daughters, Zoe, after the events of the main game.
