It’s always a bummer when games get cancelled, especially when they look so promising. And one project that got canned before it ever saw the light of day was an unannounced Legacy of Kain game that no one even knew about.

For those that might not know, Legacy of Kain was a vampire-action series that enjoyed a lot of love back in the days of the original PlayStation, so the prospect of a new single player, story driven Legacy of Kain for new consoles was an inviting prospect for fans. However, the franchise went dark following the release of Legacy of Kain: Defiance in 2003.

Then in 2009, Developer Climax Studios (Silent Hill: Shattered Memories) began work on Legacy of Kain: Dark Sun, being powered by the Unreal 3 engine for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. Square Enix then cancelled in 2012 after three years of development.

And of course, some footage for the game has now appeared online. Check it out below, and take a look at our list of the 7 cancelled games we really want to play.
