Games in 2020 We Can’t Wait to Get Our Hands On
We’re already itching for these big releases coming in 2020!
2019 has been a cracking year for games, but 2020 is already lining up to be an absolute blockbuster in its own right. We picked 5 of the hottest games arriving in 2020 that we’re dying to get our hands on!
Marvel’s Avengers
Release date: 15 May 2020 (Xbox One | PS4 | PC)

One of the most anticipated game presentations at this year’s E3 expo was that of Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics’ elusive Avengers game, which will allow players to take on the role of all the core Avengers, namely Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor in an all-new story, which picks up during a devastating attack which results in the Avengers disbanding. Five years later, with all superheroes outlawed and the world in peril, the only hope is to reassemble Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Much like 2018’s Spider-Man, Marvel’s Avengers combines cinematic storytelling with a robust single-player campaign, but Marvel’s Avengers will also incorporate co-op gameplay.
Cyberpunk 2077
Release date: 16 April 2020 (Xbox One | PS4 | PC)

From the the team behind the breathtaking adventure that was The Witcher 3, comes a new spin on a cyberpunk future, aptly (and quite descriptively) titled Cyberpunk 2077. The game takes a somewhat similar set-up to The Witcher series, throwing you in a dense, open-world full of missions and things to do; but this time around, you’ll have to battle your way through maniacal robots, augmented humans, and all kinds of weird, futuristic monstrosities. It looks to be incredibly deep with some interesting RPG mechanics, but the gorgeous gunfights and a compelling story are the real attraction here.
The Last of Us: Part II
Release date: 29 May 2020 (PS4)

The Last of Us barely needs an introduction at this point. One of the highest-rated games of all time, Naughty Dog’s post-apocalyptic survival adventure was a harrowing yet brilliant release on PS3 (and later remastered for PS4), and we’re finally seeing the second part of the story in 2020’s The Last of Us: Part II. Not too much is known about the story or how much time has passed between the first and second game, but it will follow a more mature and battle-hardened Ellie as she sets out on a quest for revenge, with new stealth mechanics, trickier enemies, and emotional story-beats that’ll likely leave us in tatters.
Biomutant
Release date: TBC 2020 (PS4 | Xbox One | PC)
Price: Find the best price here.
Set in a post-apocalyptic universe filled with humanoid animal creatures, Biomutant is an open-world RPG that combines exploration and combat across a vast but dangerous setting. Described as a “kung-fu fable”, the game allows you to customise your character with different robotic attachments, mutations and weapons, ranging from samurai swords to full-blown assault rifles. It’s incredibly unique and ambitious, and could very-well end up being a surprise hit when it finally does release.
Doom Eternal
Release date: 20 March 2020 (Xbox One | PS4 | PC | Switch)
Price: Find the best price here.
2016’s Doom reboot is easily one of the best first-person shooters of the generation, so anyone who loves some fast-paced demon-hunting should have the sequel on their radar this November. Doom Eternal ups the ante of the already-crazy pace of the gameplay, introducing a grappling-hook shotgun, flame belch attack, and a host of other weapons and tweaks to keep you killing faster and more frantically. There’ll also be a full multiplayer component that allows players to control demons, each with unique powers and abilities, versus a slayer who is ‘fully loaded’ with all the skills from the single-player campaign.
