Best PS4 & Xbox One Games on Special this Weekend
Check out this week’s best gaming and technology specials!
The weekend is here, and if you’re hunting for some great gaming and tech deals, we’ve rounded up the best going down from local online and physical retailers around SA!
Days Gone | PS4 (Game 4 U) – R499
Another overlooked gem, Days Gone, is on sale this weekend, seeing a huge discount that should make picking up the open-world zombie-survival adventure a no-brainer.
The Last of Us Part II | PS4 (Koodoo) – R399
While there is a bit of division regarding the game’s narrative direction, The Last of Us Part II is a solid game. The graphics are stellar, the combat is brutal, and the production quality is second to none, and for its price, it’s well worth the cost of admission.
Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate | Xbox One (Xbox Marketplace) – R119.70
Set in 1868 London, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is one of the more beloved yet underappreciated entries in Ubisoft’s stab-’em-up franchise. Being able to play as siblings Jacob and Evie, Syndicate includes traversal, combat, and story-points in the AC saga.
Spider-Man: Game of the Year Edition | PS4 (Raru) – R489
Even with the somewhat minor hiccups, Spider-Man manages to deliver exactly what you want from a Spidey game: making you feel like the friendly neighbourhood superhero, a ton of fan-service, and diving into Peter Parker’s side of the story, while all looking gorgeous in the process. It’s a must-buy, and given the fact that the Game of the Year edition includes some visual upgrades and The City That Never Sleeps DLC with additional missions & challenges, it’s a no-brainer.
Middle-Earth: Shadow of the War | Xbox One (Loot) – R130
Shadow of War is big, bold, and brutal in its design and execution, making one of the most well-rounded experiences of 2017, albeit with a few hurdles due to its scale. But it’s nothing that will detract you from enjoying the brilliant adventure Monolith Productions have crafted, and with it being on special, you should definitely pick it up whether you’re a die-hard Lord of the Rings fan or not.
