Ghost Recon: Wildlands Free to Play this Weekend to Celebrate New Team Deathmatch mode
Boolieve it!
Ghost Recon: Wildlands was critically-praised when it released earlier this year, and the tactical action-shooter is available to play for free this weekend.
The Free Play Weekend is active from 12-15 October, but only Playstation Plus or Xbox Live Gold can play on consoles. Also, your progress will carry over if you decide to buy the full game after the weekend.
The promotion also ties into the new mode which has been added to the game: a 4 v 4 team deathmatch mode called Ghost War. Previously, the game only had co-operative multiplayer, but with the addition of Ghost War, the game now also has a competitive edge to it.
If you already own the game, Ghost War will now be available for free after an update. The mode allows for players to pick from 12 classes, where you can revive teammates and tag enemies, along with a number of variation to match-types available.
It looks pretty fun:
We reviewed Ghost Recon: Wildlands back in March and had the following to say about it:
“If Just Cause, The Division, and Far Cry had some sort of weird super-baby, it would be Wildlands. Yes, this is a Ghost Recon game, but it’s a stripped-down, gritty version of the tactical shooter that delivers something familiar yet refreshing to the franchise.”
