Here’s When You’ll Be Able to Play the New Batman Game
Batman – The Telltale Series gets a release date.
The Batman: Return to Arkham remastered collection isn’t the only Batman game arriving this year, as Telltale Games (who made the stellar Walking Dead episodic series) is set to release it’s next story-driven adventure, Batman: The Telltale Series.
Batman’s first episode will launch digitally in August on consoles, PC/Mac, Android and iOS, with a retail Season Pass Disc arriving on 16 September.
The retail version will include the first of five planned episodes on-disc, then granting access to the subsequent instalments as they become available.
The developers also said that while their telling of Batman’s story will feature his crime-fighting antics, it will also have a heavy focus on the conflict of Batman/Bruce Wayne’s dual-identity, which should make for some interesting decisions throughout the game.
“Our Batman series is looking fantastic”, said Telltale Games CEO Kevin Bruner told Kotaku. “I think it might become one of the best things we’ve ever done. I can’t go into much detail, but the Batman team is amazing and they are really on top of it. It’s not like any other Batman game out there. This game really explores all aspects of Batman, not just the the ‘fighting in the suit’ side of him. There’s a lot of subplots to explore and some really amazing choices that have a big impact on the story being told. I really think it might be the peak of the mountain for us so far.”
