Mario In Unreal Engine 4 Is Gorgeous, Colourful And What We’ve Always Wanted

Developers and game tinkerers can do some pretty incredible things with the open-source Unreal Engine, and one guy has put together a somewhat surreal re-imagining of Super Mario 64 using the powerful graphical interface. It’s what dreams are made of.
Made by aspiring developer Aryok Pineral, the pet-project shows the iconic Mario hopping, sliding and running through gorgeous levels in silky-smooth 1080p and 60 fps.
According to Pineral “all the environment assets were taken from the Unreal marketplace, all the character actions were scripted using blueprints only, all animations were re-created from scratch”.
The only problem is that Nintendo has a history of shutting down fan-projects that feature its characters due to copyright issues. This was the case with a brilliant browser-version of Mario 64 created earlier this year.
