New Xbox Console in the Works?
Is Microsoft cooking up something?
While the current generation of consoles are finally hitting their stride with some incredible games landing on the Xbox One and PS4, but it seems that the console manufacturers are already scheming their next step.
According to a LinkedIn profile, a Microsoft visual designer, who has been with the company since 2006, is said to already be working on a new project known as “Xbox neXt”.
Admittedly a terrible name, the Xbox neXt is probably just a working title for the find strengthens the belief that Microsoft is readying a new and more powerful Xbox console, possibly to be revealed at E3 this year. However, it could very well be the project name for the expected slimmer version of the Xbox One, which, given the track-record of past console releases, is extremely likely.
Only last week, Spencer talked about the possibility of a much more powerful Xbox console, rather than a smaller-step update.
“I don’t know anything about any of the [PS4K] rumours that are out there,” he said, “but I can understand other teams’ motivations to do that. For us, our box is doing well. It performs, it’s reliable, the servers are doing well. If we’re going to go forward with anything, like I said, I want it to be a really substantial change for people – an upgrade.”
On the other side of the fence, rumours are surfacing that Sony is preparing a 4K-ready version of the Playstation 4.
