Rugby 25 has launched on Steam Early Access, allowing PC gamers to play Big Ant Studios and Nacon’s latest entry into the rugby franchise.

Rugby 25 started as Rugby 24, but with the delays and ongoing work needed for the game, the developer has decided to rebrand the game for the new season.

Being in Early Access, the game is still in an ‘in-development’ stage, and the playable version acts as a beta, of sorts, for the developers to get feedback from players ahead of the game’s launch later this year.

“The Early Access version of Rugby 25 features a limited number of teams and modes, you can expect significant additional content at each update, culminating in a full version that will feature an extensive roster of rugby international and club teams, championships and leagues, a full career mode, online modes, and much more,” said the developer.

Rugby 25 Early Access releases with an offline quick play mode and custom competition modes. Big Ant Studios also emphasised that the teams featured in the Early Access version will not be final, nor will the players have their photogrammetry likeness integrated into the game. This will be added with later updates.

Rugby 25 Early Access is only available on PC via Steam, but will launch in its completed form on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Xbox One, and PS4.
