Rugby Challenge 3: Possible Release Date Emerges
A new arrival date for the crunching rugby game slips out.
A notable absentee from the game releases of late 2015 was that of Rugby Challenge 3.
Tru Blu and Wicked Witch Software’s third instalment into the popular Rugby Challenge franchise was originally set for a mid-to-late October launch, but was then delayed with little information as to when the game would actually drop.
This came as a surprise, because the Wicked Witch Software previously announced via a Tweet back in November that the game was completed and a trailer was on the way.
Both Tru Blu and Wicked Witch Software have been extremely quiet as to the new arrival date, but local retailer BT Games’ latest catalogue lists Rugby Challenge 3 under a March release.
This time-frame would make sense given the emphasis of the game featuring all the Super Rugby team licenses, and the delay could be Wicked Witch waiting to update the game with the latest real-world team rosters, and add the new teams joining Super Rugby in February, namely the Kings (South Africa), Sunwolves (Japan), and the Jaguares (Argentina).
Rugby Challenge 3 will bring some new features to the series, as the game is set to include a Be A Pro mode, a Fan-hub to allow players to create their own players and teams, and in addition to Super Rugby, it will feature the ITM Cup and Currie Cup tournaments and team licenses, and for the first-time in a video game, Sevens rugby.
