It seems as if hell has in fact frozen over – Rugby Challenge 3 has been given a release date.

Tru Blu announced via a press release that Rugby Challenge 3 will be out on April 14th, 2016. It will be available for the PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360. Bear in mind that different countries will have different release dates, but it’s pretty safe to say that South Africa will get the game around the 14th April 2016 (which was specified for New Zealand). We have contacted local distributor Megarom for further information.

The third instalment into the popular Rugby Challenge franchise was originally set for a mid-to-late October launch, but was then delayed with little information as to when the game would actually drop.

This came as a surprise, because the Wicked Witch Software previously announced via a Tweet back in November that the game was completed and a trailer was on the way.

Rugby Challenge 3 will bring some new features to the series, as the game is set to include a Be A Pro mode, a Fan-hub to allow players to create their own players and teams, and in addition to Super Rugby, it will feature the ITM Cup and Currie Cup tournaments and team licenses, and for the first-time in a video game, Sevens rugby.
