Could a sequel to one of the greatest games ever made be in the works?

Shadow of the colossus

It’s been over 12 years since Shadow of the Colossus hit PS2 consoles back in 2005, and with the remake on its way and set for release later this year, it wouldn’t be crazy to suggest a sequel may be in the works.

Well, that’s what the gaming community is thinking after Gendesign, the studio of Fumito Ueda, the game’s original designer, posted this on their website:

The image itself shows a long-haired figure, who doesn’t look unlike Shadow of the Colossus‘ character Mono, sitting in a beam of light on a raised stone bed. At the bottom of the stairs appears a giant creature (which we can only see partially).

Could this be a tease to a Shadow of the Colossus follow-up? Perhaps it’s just some art from his studio? Either way, anything Euda does tends to get fans excited, and given the cult-following of Shadow of the Colossus, it’s very possible that a sequel could be in the works.
