If you’re a fan of virtual genitalia exploding in slow-motion, you’ll be excited to know that Sniper Elite 4 has been announced by Rebellion Entertainment.

The game is the next entry into the popular sharpshooting third-person action series, and will pick up right after the events of Sniper Elite 3. You’ll once again play as super marksman Karl Fairburne as he has to travel to the forests, mountains and coastal towns of 1943 Italy, where he must fight alongside the Italian Resistance to help free their country “and defeat a terrifying new threat”.

Alongside the campaign, the game will feature dedicated co-op and competitive multiplayer modes, and will be developed and published by Rebellion, dropping Sniper Elite 2 and 3‘s publisher 505 Games.

It’ll also be the first game in the series to drop support for last-gen consoles, allowing Rebellion to create maps “many times the size of those seen in Sniper Elite 3” and “deliver the definitive World War Two shooter for a generation”. It’ll run at native 1080p on both PS4 and Xbox One, the developer says.
