Spider-Man 2, Wolverine Game, God of War: Ragnarok & More Trailers Revealed

Check out all the big announcements from Sony’s State of Play event!

A number of big gaming releases have been announced, including the likes of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and a new Wolverine game, along with a bunch of fresh trailers for upcoming titles that have dropped — all being part of Sony’s Playstation Showcase event.

The half-hour event, which took place on Thursday, 9 September, highlighted what’s to come in the near and far future on the Playstation platform, with some expected and surprising announcements making up the bulk of the show.

We’ve highlighted all the reveals and new trailers for your viewing pleasure, below:

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

Insomniac Games officially announced a full sequel to their 2018 smash-hit Spider-Man, which is scheduled for a 2023 release.

Marvel’s Wolverine

In addition to Spider-Man 2, Ratchet & Clank developer Insomniac also dropped a bombshell with another Marvel game announcement, this time revealing that the team will also be making a Playstation-exclusive Wolverine game.

God of War: Ragnarok

As anticipated, we got a first look at the God of War sequel, God of War: Ragnarok. The trailer showcased some gameplay and story elements from the upcoming follow-up. God of War: Ragnarok will be coming to PS4 and PS5.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake

Developer Aspyr announced that they are remaking the beloved 2003 Star Wars RPG, Knights of the Old Republic. The game is set for a PS5 release.

Project Eve

Project Eve is a fast and frantic action-adventure game that may appeal to fans of the Devil May Cry series. The game takes place in the not-too-distant future on the ruined Earth against some cybernetic and monstrous enemies.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands

A spin-off of Gearbox’s beloved Borderlands franchise, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is another over-the-top first-person shooter full of guns, great humour, and some outlandish bad guys to dispose of.

Forspoken

Luminous Productions and Square Enix showed off their action-adventure game, Forspoken, which follows a normal New York City woman who is transported to the cruel land of Athia with a magical, sentient bracelet wrapped around her arm.

Alan Wake Remastered

It was revealed that a remaster of the 2010 action-horror game, Alan Wake, will be making its way to the Playstation platform. This is a huge win for Playstation fans, as previous Alan Wake was only available on the Xbox and PC platforms.

Grand Theft Auto V: PS5 Upgrade

The game that never dies, Grand Theft Auto V is coming to PS5 with additional bonuses for PS Plus Members. The PS5 edition launches in March 2022.

Ghostwire Tokyo

Tango Gameworks (The Evil Within series) showcased a new trailer for Tokyo Ghostwire, their first-person supernatural action-horror game set in Japan.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy

A new trailer for Square Enix’s Guardians of the Galaxy game showcases some more story info on the upcoming Marvel release, along with some snippets of new gameplay.

Blood Hunt

Bloodhunt is a free battle royale game set in the Vampire: The Masquerade universe and is coming to PS5 in 2021.

Deathloop

Dishonored developer Arkane’s interesting-looking first-person shooter, Deathloop, got a brand-new trailer, providing the best look at the mysterious story so far. In Deathloop, you play as Colt, a man reliving the same day again and again until he assassinates 8 targets.

Tchia

Tchia is a tropical open-world adventure game where you climb, glide, swim, and sail your boat around a beautiful archipelago in a physics-driven sandbox. Use Tchia’s Soul Jumping ability to take control of any animal or object you can find, and Jam on your fully playable Ukulele.

Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection

One of Playstation’s shining IPs, Uncharted, is coming to PC in the form of the remastered Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, which features Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. The collection is also coming to PS5.

Gran Turismo 7

A new trailer for Gran Turismo 7 revealed the in-depth modes and customisation that the series is known for, along with the PS4 and PS5 release date: 4 March 2022.
