Moving away from the inFamous series for the first time in a while, the team over at SuckerPunch is working on a brand new IP called Ghost of Tsushima — an open world adventure game set in Feudal Japan where you take on the role of a samurai. What we do know about the gameplay is that there’s going to be a lot of samurai action, as you’ll tasked with battling overwhelming odds against the incoming Mongol Empire using your katana, samurai skills, and honour to protect your homeland.

The Last of Us: Part II

Release date: 19 June 2020 (PS4)

The Last of Us is easily one of the best games of the generation, being presented countless awards and accolades since its initial release back in 2013. The long-anticipated sequel arrives this year, and not too much is known about the story or how much time has passed between the first and second game, but it will follow a more mature and battle-hardened Ellie as she sets out on a quest for revenge, with new stealth mechanics, trickier enemies, and emotional story-beats that’ll likely leave us in tatters.

One of the unsung gems of the PS4 is Nioh, and aspiring samurai’s can get another healthy dose of katana-wielding action with Nioh 2. Similar to its predecessor, Nioh 2, acting as a prequel, expands the action role-playing experience by allowing players to create their own character. In the sequel, you’re able to transform into your yoki (animal) form and use special skills not available in your human form. Multiplayer elements are available too, allowing two friends to join you in an area to help out with those pesky demons.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake

Release date: 10 April 2020 (PS4)
Price: Find the best price here.

After the success of other remakes, Square Enix is reviving one of the most beloved RPGs of all time, Final Fantasy 7, but reworked from scratch to provide fans with a brand-new FF experience. The remake includes a full graphical overhaul and a realtime combat system (though a classic turn-based system will also be available).
