After teasing some heat-map styled images, Ubisoft has officially revealed that Predator (yes, that Predator) will be coming to its tactical-shooter, Ghost Recon: Wildlands, on 14 December.

The upcoming Jungle Storm update will introduce new outfits for your squad and a class based on the classic 1987 film, but most significantly, it offers a limited-time mission where you, in single-player or co-op, (attempt) to hunt down the famed alien. This mission, dubbed The Predator Special Challenge, will be available from the moment the update lands until early January.

If successful, and you manage to kill the Predator, you’ll unlock some exclusive new items, including the Predator mask for your character, which features a new Predator vision mode. Additionally, the in-game store will offer the Predator Pack, providing access to new customsation items, weapons, and “an exclusive close combat move,” all of which are meant to let you “recreate some of the most memorable characters from the original movie.”

We hope this is the move:

But it’s probably a gory stab.

The new update also adds the new Pathfinder class, ranked play, gear, and other gameplay updates for Ghost War, along with some bug fixes and improvements.

We reviewed Ghost Recon: Wildlands back in March, saying that “the concept to tackle the Ghost Recon world sans the invisibility cloaks and fancy gadgetry works excellently well in the context of a Bolivian drug-war where you go after machine-gun toting cartels rather than high-end terrorists. It’s one of Ubisoft’s most accomplished games, and an experience every gamer should be delving into.”
