Adidas Predator Freak Revealed: Details, Price, & What You Need to Know
Adidas unleashes its inner-freak with the latest entry into the Predator line-up!

Adidas have been making some bold moves with the Predator line of football boots in recent times, and the German brand has made one of the most drastic changes to the beloved boot with the Predator Freak.
After introducing the Demonskin technology on last year’s Predator Mutator, which saw rubber nodes being placed across the upper of the boot for greater ball control, the Predator Freak takes this to a whole new level, and features extended and more aggressive spike coverage to give a real sense of grip on the ball.
The design team also took feedback on the Predator Mutator from professional and amateur players, who wanted to slip into the boots more easily. To help this, Adidas has introduced a new split line high collar, which is more shaped to the curvature of your foot and won’t put up too much of a fight when slipping on.
Manchester United’s Paul Pogba commented; “From first wear, I knew Adidas had created something special with their Demonskin material. As soon as I touched the ball, I really felt a difference in the way my foot connected. I’m happy my experience with it so far has impacted the new Predator design.”
Further performance-elevating design updates can be seen in the evolved Controlframe, a lightweight outsole complemented with traction studs for optimal traction and control, whilst stabilising the wearer’s step to allow full power of movement.
The Predator Freak has also received an expressive aesthetic update. Referencing notable heritage designs including the 1998 Predator Accelerator and the 2000 Predator Precision, the launch colourway is part of the Superlative pack, which includes the iconic three stripes wrapping from lateral to medial sides and around the underside of the boot. Luminous yellow Demonskin spikes pop against a bright all-over blue colourway, to round off the striking look.
The Predator Freak range will also include shin guards and goalkeeper gloves featuring the Demonskin technology, extending the same sensation of grip and control across all positions on the pitch.
The Predator Freak is available on Adidas.com and selected retailers, with the top-tier Predator Freak+ priced at R4,999.
