Can Tank Lanning Finish A Six-Patty Burger In 10 Minutes?
Can the Front Row Grunt himself wallop down a massive burger in an allocated time?

Popular rugby writer Tank Lanning (from Front Row Grunt) decided to take on the Franky’s Chubby burger challenge, but it seemed like the six-patty monster was too tough for Tank to tackle.
Franky’s Diner is a popular 50s-style spot in Sea Point, Cape Town, and has become known for it’s tempting yet difficult R165 special – which involves trying to eat a massive Chubby burger in less than 10 minutes – if you do, it’s free. In addition to saving some bucks, you also get your name on the wall of fame and they even throw in a T-shirt.
Tank tucked into the beast of a burger, but despite his hopes, he wasn’t able to do it and expressed his dismay on EatOut:
In sporting parlance it went a little like this: Chubby – 1, Chunky – 0. For me, the test is not the amount of food – I could definitely have polished off those last two patties and chips – but getting it down in 10 minutes is the tricky part. Franky’s do not mess around with their burgers. Breadcrumb-free, these are proper all-beef patties that require some serious chewing. 10 minutes is a tough ask, but you can bet I’ll be back to give it another go.
Sure, Tank. Whatever you say.
