If you’re in the mood to work those dormant abdomen muscles for a weekly session, then Capetonians will be glad to know that there is some serious comedy action going down every Thursday night.

Comedy on Long is hosting weekly comedy nights at Iconic Lounge on Long Street in the CBD, which is will feature top comedians from South Africa, up and coming comedians, open mic acts (for new acts trying to make it in the industry) and the occasional international act. Not only that, but it’s hosted by two-time SAFTA Award winning comedian, Mum-z.

The night will not only bring some knee-slappers, but will also act as a gateway for tourists to get an understanding of local culture and promoting what South Africa has to offer.

Food is available (courtesy of Mexican On Long) and the bar is fully stocked. The venue can comfortably seat 125 people on tables (so that they can enjoy snacks and drinks as they are entertained) and features two smoking sections. The balcony overlooks the iconic upper Long Street and with a spotlight and elevated platform for performers to “do their thing” it really is an amazing spot for comedy.

Tickets for Comedy On Long are available on Quicket and are priced at R50 (pre-sale on Quicket) and R70 at the door. For updates on all the line-ups, check out the Comedy On Long Facebook page.
