Before spring and summer roll around and we head out to the beaches and pools around SA, take a quick gander through men’s swimsuit history – because you don’t know how far you’ve come until you know where you’ve been.
The somewhat racy video from Mode Glam, starts all the way back in 1915, which is when men first donned bathing attire, according to the site. The vintage swimsuit could double as long underwear or pajamas, a look that had only marginally improved by 1925 when it resembled uber-tight boxing shorts. A look that should not be recreated these days.
