28 Years Later: Watch the First Trailer for Highly-Anticipated the Zombie Sequel

One of the biggest movies released in 2025 is 28 Years Later, the third entry in the zombie survival franchise from Academy Award-winning director Danny Boyle and Academy Award-nominated writer Alex Garland. The first trailer has now dropped, giving us a look at the long-in-development sequel.

Set almost three decades since the rage virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory (as chronicled in 2002’s 28 Days Later and 2007’s 28 Weeks Later), some have found ways to exist amidst the infected. One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily-defended causeway. When one of the group leaves the island on a mission into the dark heart of the mainland, he discovers secrets, wonders, and horrors that have mutated not only the infected but other survivors as well.

The film stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer, ​Jack O’Connell, ​Alfie Williams, ​and Ralph Fiennes; and will hit cinemas in June 2025.
