5 Most Anticipated Movies of March 2018
What are the biggest movies to keep on your radar this March?

The blockbuster hits are coming thick and fast in March, with a Steven Spielberg epic and video game heroine featured among the biggest flicks to look out for!
Ready Player One
Release date: 30 March 2018
Steven Spielberg is helming this book-to-movie adaptation, which should be reason enough to be excited. The plot follows a kid in the year 2044 in a dystopian future as he searches for a coveted ‘Easter egg’ in a virtual reality video game called OASIS. The designer of the video game hid this prized item, and the first player to find it will inherit his fortune and corporation – so think of it as a futuristic Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, with tons of sci-fi action and pop culture references sprinkled throughout this video game-y adventure.
Red Sparrow
Release date: 2 March 2018
Jennifer Lawrence’s series of blockbuster hits shows no signs of slowing down as she plays the lead in a spy thriller, alongside Joel Edgerton (Bright) and Jeremy Irons (Justice League). She plays a highly trained Russian femme fatale whose mission is to find a traitor in the Russian government, and she has to do anything in her power to achieve that objective. Think of it as a Hitman meets Girl with the Dragon Tattoo amalgam, with a lot of action, deceit, and twists before its grand finale.
Death Wish
Release date: 9 March 2018
Remakes have been all the rage for the last couple of years, and Death Wish is another modernised adaptation of a 1974 cult classic starring Charles Bronson. The premise is rather simple, and many films following similar beats have been released as the years passed: Dr. Paul Kersey’s wife and daughter are brutally attacked by robbers, and after the event becomes involved in increasingly dangerous episodes of vigilante justice. With Bruce Willis, a modern day action hero, as the lead, this should be a nervy ride of a revenge thriller – but time will tell if it’s a good example of the genre or a knock-off of Taken.
Tomb Raider
Release date: 16 March 2018
Many might remember Angelina Jolie’s two outings as video game’s most famous heroine quite a few years back, but the pistol-wielding adventurer is about to make an action-packed return to the silver screen. Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina, Jason Bourne) plays a young Lara Croft, before she’s a hardened and experienced explorer, in what is essentially an origin story. The plot is an adaptation of 2013’s video game reboot storyline – Lara sets out to discover the truth about her father’s mysterious disappearance, and ends up finding more than she bargained for. Hopefully this movie breaks the curse of disappointing video game movies once and for all.
Pacific Rim: Uprising
Release date: 23 March 2018
Star Wars star John Boyega takes the lead in the direct sequel to the first Pacific Rim, which sees deceased Jaeger pilot Stacker Pentecost’s son take up his father’s mantle to protect mankind from the planet-threatening Kaiju. But, if we’re being honest, the story is a convenient byproduct of why we’re really going to see this movie: watching massive robots have city-destroying fights with inter-dimensional beasts. If you need something to get your adrenalin pumping, this here is your fix.
