Captain America: Civil War Gets Its Villain
Steve Rogers will have more than just Iron Man to deal with in the third Cap outing.

Daniel Bruhl (Rush, Inglourious Basterds) has been cast as the villain in Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War.
The casting, which was announced by Marvel, with Deadline following up that the actor is playing the villain in the film, comes off of the back of Marvel’s big event, where the studios’ future plans regarding upcoming superhero movies were announced.
The site adds that in addition to Chris Evans and Robert Downey, Jr. starring in the project as Cap and Iron Man respectively, and Chadwick Boseman making his debut as Black Panther, Sebastian Stan, Samuel L. Jackson, and Scarlett Johansson are all expected to reprise their roles as well.
Meanwhile, Variety says their sources claim that Bruhl is not the main villain in Civil War but “could potentially be the top menace in Marvel’s Dr. Strange.” Hmmm… Since Downey, Jr. will presumably already be serving as an antagonistic force to Cap, you have to wonder how many villains or how big the villain’s role will be in Civil War anyway.
“With Daniel’s ability to deliver intense, nuanced performances, we knew we had found yet another great actor to share the screen with some of our biggest heroes,” said producer Kevin Feige.
Joe and Anthony Russo, who directed Winter Soldier, return to the helm of Captain America 3. The film is scheduled for release in May 2016. Deadline also adds that word on the street continues to be that the directing duo will likely take over the Avengers: Infinity War sequels after Joss Whedon completes his run with Age of Ultron.
