Captain America: Civil War – Tons of New Posters
The Avengers pick their sides in the new character posters for Civil War.
Well, it looks like it’s nearly time to start choosing sides. Heading into cinemas at the end of next month is Captain America: Civil War, which will see Chris Evan’s Captain America not exactly seeing eye to eye with Robert Downey Jr’s Tony Stark/Iron Man.
The film follows Marvel’s Civil War comic-book storyline, which sees Stark and Rogers on opposite sides of the debate when it comes to the Superhero Registration Act, which forces anyone with superhuman abilities to reveal their identities to the U.S. government and agree to act as a police force for the authorities. This tears a divide between Iron Man and Captain America, forcing the Avengers to pick sides.
To tease the upcoming big battle, Marvel has released half a dozen character posters, which are the six characters lining up for Team Cap, and another six for Team Iron Man.
On Cap’s side, we’ve got Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Anthony Mackie as Falcon, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, and of course, a new poster for Captain America himself, Chris Evans.
On Iron Man’s, there’s Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Don Cheadle as War Machine, Paul Bettany as Vision, Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther and Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man. For those good at math, that’s only five people on Team Iron Man, which is one less than the line-up for Team Cap. Will that slot end up being filled by Tom Holland as Spider-Man?
