DC & James Gunn’s Superman Film: Superman & Lois Lane Actors Revealed
DC pinpoints its new Man of Steel for the studio’s cinematic future.

Following the ongoing back and forth with DC’s cinematic universe, James Gunn has been hired to take control of the film side of DC’s superhero movies, with the director confirming that David Corenswet will play Clark Kent/Superman in the upcoming Superman reboot.
The news was confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter, with Corenswet taking over the red cape from Henry Cavill, who played the Man of Steel in a few recent DC films; but this new film will be a new take on Superman and has no connection to the previous DCEU projects.
Corenswet is known for his role on The Politician , and was screen-tested for the role alongside other options, which included Nicolaus Hault (X-Men: First Class).
Additionally, it was confirmed that Rachel Brosnahan (Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, House of Cards) will play Lois Lane in the film, which is set to be titled Superman: Legacy.

Superman: Legacy has a current release date of 11 July 2025, with Gunn directing and expecting to begin filming in early 2024.
The casting search will now continue for characters such as Lex Luthor and the superheroes The Authority, who are expected to debut in Legacy before toplining their own film.
The Superman project will be the first film fully produced under Gunn and Peter Safran’s tenure, who were called in to help revamp the future of DC’s cinematic outings.
