Dwayne Johnson Returns In The First Trailer For San Andreas

Here’s one of the smattering of next year’s summer blockbusters that’s not a sequel, reboot, or based on a comic book. You may not believe it, but such things do exist.

It’s a big budget disaster movie here by the name of San Andreas, and stars Dwayne Johnson, Paul Giamatti, Iaon Gruffudd, Kylie Minogue (yip, the singing Aussie who also appeared in Street Fighter movie), Ken Watanabe and Colton Hayes. And basically, it looks like an effects-driven extravaganza, with Johnson playing a rescue helicopter pilot dealing with the aftermath of a massive earthquake. 

The film reunites him with his Journey 2: The Mysterious Island director Brad Peyton (who also directed Cats & Dogs: The Revenge Of Kitty Galore), and it’s set for release in UK cinemas in May 2015.
