First Image Of Jason Momoa As Aquaman Revealed

The clock is steadily ticking down to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, with the full Justice League movie still quite a while away. Casting news and unveils have come in every now and then, with Zack Snyder dropping a new teaser via Twitter. This time it’s of the new Aquaman; Jason Momoa, AKA Aquamoa, decked out it his full Atlantean kit. Complete with trident, Polynesian tattoos and bad-ass dreads.

By casting Momoa in the role WB/DC did quite a bit to revamp Aquaman’s reputation among casual fans as a bit of a wimp that contributes very little to the Justice League. Zack Snyder has ensured that Aquaman’s reputation keeps rising with his take on the King of Atlantis. It’s sure to be divisive among long time fans, as there’s little evidence of the character’s traditional appearance. He no longer looks like an Abercrombie model, lacks blonde locks and is suspiciously missing his usual orange-scaled torso. There are little traces, such as his tattoos resembling the traditional scales and what appear to be lighter sections in his hair.

A lot of fans swear by Jim Lee’s iconic interpretation and fantastic art, but for better or worse our new Aquaman is here to stay. Love it or hate it, our new King of Atlantis has arrived. Interestingly “Unite The Seven” is emblazoned across the image, and the Justice League cast is one member short as nobody has been selected to play Green Lantern. Could we be hearing about the new Hal Jordan (…or John Stewart?) some time soon?
