Lindsay Lohan to play Liza Taylor in TV movie

Troubled star looks to get on track with new biopic.

Lindsay Lohan will portray Elizabeth Taylor in a Lifetime channel film.

The film will explore the tempestuous relationship between Taylor and Richard Burton. Taylor and Burton met as co-stars of the 1963 epic Cleopatra. .

While many have criticised the casting of 25 year old Lohan, the film’s producers are confidant Lohan is the right actress for the job. Lohan recently said in a press release:

“I have always admired and had enormous respect for Elizabeth Taylor. She was not only an incredible actress but an amazing woman as well. I am very honored to have been asked to play this role.”

Christopher Monger (Temple Grandin) will serve as writer. No director has been announced as yet.

Liz & Dick, will begin production in early June.
